what did you think about sales?

I had an internship with Birla Sunlife, I need to connect with people and convince them for SIP ( Systematic Investment Plan).

So I start convincing customers who are coming to HDFC Bank, I tried to connect with them but they said "sorry I am not interested" After some days I thought I need to change my way for getting their attention, as people don't have time so after that, I try to communicate with them while they are in line for something, I also help them with banking queries so they can connect with me, and then I convince them for investing in SIP.
This is the way I connect with people and customers take action and invest in SIP.
So change your way if you are not getting a good result, don't waste your energy, First understand the customer, his interest, his time value, his requirement, etc.. Every individual may become your customer it's just to sell accordingly.
Every customer is a new opportunity.
